Hi! We are going to Japan for three weeks leaving on March 15th. Can any one suggest a place to stay in the Aso San area? We are a family of four-2boys 6%26amp;10. Thanks SO much for your help!

You might try one of these.

If you are driving, go up to Kurokawa onsen(expensive) or Yufuin(reasonable).
It is a nice scenic drive.

BTW the pension Oka-no-ie is listed in the web site: www.asopension.com, not www.asopensione.com
There are six pensions to choose from but all in Japanese so make sure to look around if not Oka-no-ie. Many outdoor and time reserved onsens with view of Aso and surrounding mountains.
Thank you very much for your help! We really appreciate it! That web site was very helpful. I couldn%26#39;t find a link or website for the one Yufuin that you said was reasonible.
Thanks again!
I frequent this ryokan in Yufuin for its value.

Pension Angelica - great friendly family...fantastic food....they will pick you up from the station etc because they are out in the countryside. They are on the south side of Aso...and they will drive you to the start of the trail...you can reach the parking areas and volcanic stuff in about 90 minutes.
They speak English. GREAT Place!
