Kansai Thru Pass: Finding non-JR Trains

Hi,

I%26#39;ll be staying in Osaka and visiting %26#39;Kyoto, Nara, Himeji etc, so am planning to buy the Kansai Thru Pass (3 day). Had a couple of questions in this regard. Appreciate help on this:

1. www.hyperdia.com does not give a non-JR route from my hotel (TANIMACHIYONCHO) to KYOTO. Any tips on how to get one, since the Kansai Pass is not valid on JR Trains?

2. Is the pass valid on ALL subway trains in Osaka, Kyoto? For example, the route says OsakaCity Chuo Line, OsakaCity Midousuji Line etc. How can I be sure that the pass is valid on all these?

Any things to be careful about, if I go for the Kansai thru pass? Any general advise on this pass?
