Transferring from an international to local flight

We are transferring from a flight into Tokyo from the UK onto a connecting local flight to Kyoto (Osaka) airport. Does anyone know if the luggage will be transferred or will we need to collect and then check in again?

If Narita is your first port of entry, you will need to collect your bags and go through customs, then recheck your bags.

If you%26#39;re flying with the same company or affiliated (like BA and JAL) then your bags will probably be checked through to Osaka, but you still have to pick your bags to go through customs as previous poster said.

If you%26#39;re checked all the way through, they have a luggage drop area close to where you come out. Its pretty fast and straightforward and signposted. I reccommend trying out the massage chairs (100Y for 10mins) in the airport, they%26#39;re great for getting long-haul kinks out your back and neck.

Enjoy your holiday!
