Urgent info needed - Spring School Holidays are they now?

Can a Japanese expert tell me if the school holidays are on now and when they are due to go back. I am particularly interested for schools in the city of Nagoya.

I leave for Japan next Friday and am planning on visiting a school in Nagoya on 13 April. This has been organised by a friend.

When I phoned today I asked for the Headmaster, who speaks English, the lady on the phone did not speak English but did happen to get out ';Vacation';. Don%26#39;t know if he is on holidays or the kids as well???????

That would be my luck to go all the way there to find the gates locked and no one around.
